IF CLAUSE: ARCHIVING THE IMPOSSIBLE

www.ifclause.it

Students will work on unreal and unfeasible projects addressed to the city of Venice. They will invent virtual identities of architects, urban planner and all kind of visionary designers to launch impossible projects, or bring to light old unrealized projects designed by forgotten authors. Those projects can belong to the realm of plausibility, of utopia or to total delirium. What is important is that they give food for thought and discussion over the destiny of Venice.
Students will create an archive containing both selected projects from the past dealing with impossible Venices and brand new projects invented by the students themselves.

The group is composed by postgraduate students from Visual Arts, and from Architecture: they will work in mixed groups using different languages and media: from the sketchbook to the fake documentary, from the impossible interview to the scale model.

This will end up with the production of an „archive of the possible and the impossible“ containing futuristic and unrealistic scenarios.
