Today was Tomorrow
IN Residence is organizing a special edition of its study, research and discussion workshops within the setting of the Swiss Pavilion in the gardens of La Biennale di Venezia. TODAY WAS TOMORROW is a dialogical workshop for studying the subject of how “the present moment” is perceived, taken as that crucial juncture between remembering the past and envisaging the future. In any attempt to decipher the underlying reasons behind our existential experience of the “here and now”, the objects we come across in everyday life have a crucial role to play, incorporating memories and sensations of life and also revealing – on a symbolic level – the aspirations everybody projects into their own future. From this perspective, how does a designed artefact set up relations with its user?
For this “Today Was Tomorrow” special edition of the IN Residence workshop 6 young and talented designers – both as individuals and organized groups – and 24 selected students from different international schools will be involved.
